Manzi in the shower

Manzi just got out of the shower. When he went in the shower with me yesterday he stayed all bundled up not wanting to get wet. He always wants to go in the shower with me, but only a couple times a week will want to go under the stream of water. So, yesterday he didn't want to go under the water, but it was so hot outside so I put him under the water anyways. He didn't do much, he just took it like a man. He didn't enjoy himself but he also didn't complain. After he got a bit wet (when he leaves his feathers flat, it is hard for the water to get anything but the very outside of his feathers wet) I left him on his perch. By the end of the shower, he decided he was ready to get soaked and started holding his wings out. Needless to say, a few minutes later he came out of the shower looking like this:

This picture is pretty cool because after a shower, there is a blue ting to his chest feathers. If you click on the photo it is much easier to see the blue.

He is quite talented. I have never been able to scratch the back of my head with my toes. Although I am not sure that I would use that talent very often even if I did have it.

Cage move

So, if his play stand moves, it is very scary and Manzi won't go near it. But today I moved his cage across the room. Is he scared? No way, he thinks it is so cool because now he is next to the piano and when he stretches very far, he can almost reach objects on top to chew on that he wasn't able to reach/see before. We are shuffling things around because we'll be leaving in a week. I think when we come back, we'll keep the cage arrangement how it is now because he is further from the dinning room table. We had dinner guests today and they were able to sit at the table without Manzi trying to reach out and bite them. Usually we have to lock Manzi in his cage when we have dinner guests, but today he was able to stay out of his cage since it is further away and he was well behaved.

Manzi on his playstand

So, it just took a couple of hours with food on his playstand for Manzi to finally fly there and eat. He was doing much better hanging out on his playstand until last night. When he was on his stand, he found out that he could reach the vertical blinds and chew them. When I saw him do that, I scooted his playstand an inch further away from the blinds. As soon as Manzi felt the playstand move he abandoned ship screaming in complete fear. So, there goes all of the work to get Manzi back on his playstand. Now he won't go anywhere near it.

What is funny is that before, I could move his playstand around to vacuum and he would just sit on it hanging on enjoying watching what I was doing. Now though, his playstand moved two feet and didn't go back so it has become a lethal place that cannot be trusted.
